Colonial Times

Life in Colonial America:
The Meeting of Two Cultures
By Alexei Veselovskiy, 4-330
Introduction
This essay is about areas of conflict and cooperation in the early inhabitants of North America.
Areas of Conflict
Diseases were one of the main areas of conflict another area of conflict was that the Europeans established slavery, slavery was established in the early 1600s. Another are of conflict is when king George the III started taxing the colonists, that was called taxation without representation. People didn’t think that slavery was bad and wrong. Warfare was another area of conflict that was really important, the Revolutionary war was one of the most important wars during colonial times.

Areas of Cooperation
One of the areas of cooperation is that the Native Americans helped the colonists plant corn. Another area of cooperation is when the Natives and the Colonists had Thanksgiving. Almost everyone had a plantation.

Personal Reflections
I think that living in colonial times was hard because everyone had to work, no-one had any electricity, children had to play with simple toys such as hoops and they didn’t have any video games.
